Butterfly Garden at Lake Whitney As a ‘Certified Texas Wildscape’, Cherokee Village Resort & Nature Center has a commitment to maintaining native plant varieties. Special emphasis is placed on native plants that serve as hosts to butterflies as well as nectar providers to butterflies and hummingbirds.

Butterflies at Cherokee Village Resort

While visiting us we hope you will take the time to visit the different garden areas on the property. The ‘Wildscape Butterfly’ garden and the ‘Habitat’ garden are great places to have a seat and watch the wildlife while enjoying the current blooms. ‘Rock Creek’ beds and the ‘Stump’ garden are easily viewed from the pavilion patios and the native blue mist flower borders all village rooms.

Additional flower beds are scattered throughout the resort and we are always looking for new ideas to make our grounds nature friendly. Among the native flowers you will find are:
